“Elon Musk’s Anti-Semitic Content Scandal on X (Twitter) Platform is Costing Major Business Partners”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk not only faces strong criticism from the White House regarding anti-Semitic and Nazi content on the X (Twitter) platform but also continues to lose major advertising clients. After confirming that Disney will suspend its ads following IBM, media reports suggest that companies like Apple, Paramount, Warner, and Lionsgate have also suspended their advertisements.
It has been reported that IBM, planning to spend one million dollars on the platform in just this quarter, withdrew its ads on X (Twitter) due to the presence of Nazi content and anti-Semitic expressions.
The organization Media Matters revealed that ads from companies such as IBM, Apple, and software giant Oracle were seen alongside posts containing positive expressions about Adolf Hitler and National Socialist ideology. A spokesperson for X (Twitter) stated that the company did not intentionally place brands next to such content and emphasized the platform’s dedication to combating anti-Semitism.
With the EU Commission announcing that it will no longer advertise on the X (Twitter) platform due to information gaps and hate speech, the advertising boycott gained momentum. The EU Commission decided to refrain from advertising campaigns due to concerns that the content may appear in an “inappropriate context.”

Elon Musk threatened Media Matters with a “thermonuclear lawsuit” and accused the organization of intentionally misleading. However, Media Matters, in a previously published report, demonstrated that reviewing an account with racist content once led to the display of ads from well-known brands. There has been no response to Musk’s threat regarding this situation.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates accused Musk of supporting “disgusting” anti-Semitic lies through his posts on X (Twitter). Bates stated, “Repeating the disgusting lie behind the deadliest act of anti-Semitism in American history at any time, especially doing so just a month after the most deadly day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, is unacceptable.” Musk, in response to these allegations, softened his stance slightly but mostly wrote to his supporters on X (Twitter) that the biggest advertisers are “the greatest suppressors of your freedom of expression.”
Musk confirmed the decline in advertising revenue, stating that the company’s revenues had decreased by approximately 50% during this period. Despite launching a paid membership level to reduce dependence on advertising revenue, experts believe that subscription offers cannot compensate for the loss of advertising revenue.
